パーソナルヒストリー

作業療法士として勤務。青年海外協力隊としてタイの知的障害児施設で活動。帰国後、総合福祉センター、総合病院で作業療法士として勤務。
2019年4月～2021年3月、琉球大学保健学研究科博士前期課程修了、修士習得。学長賞取得（教室から3人目）。2021年4月より東京都内民間研究所勤務

メッセージ

大学卒業時から、大学院へ進学したいという気持ちがありました。タイから帰国した後、一度は臨床に戻りましたが、大学院進学の気持ちが膨らみ、沖縄に来ました。当教室で学んだことを活かし、保健・福祉・医療の橋渡しになれるグローカルな存在になりたいと思っています。

看護師、助産師として勤務。JICAのボランティアとしてセネガルに行き、帰国後、再度助産師として勤務。
2018年の4月より琉球大学の修士課程に入学。2020年修士取得、2021年度国際地域保健学客員研究員。2022年度沖縄県内でWomen Centered Approachの普及を助産師として推進。

メッセージ

私は自分の経験から出てきた疑問を解くためにこの教室へ来ました。セネガルでの2年、同僚と一緒に働いていたとき、何を一緒にできるのかわからずにいた。もしかしたら、私の考えることと同僚たちの計画とは合っていなかったのかもしれない。この経験から私は何ができるのかどのようにできるのかをこの修士の2年間で知りたいし、未来につなげたい。ここは授業も英語でのコミュニケーションも大変で、セネガルの日々のよう。もしも、世界の保健もちろん地域保健を含めて興味があれば、一緒に学びましょう。

After obtaining the license to practice as a clinical laboratory scientist, I worked as a research assistant for the Neglected Tropical Diseases Study Group of the UP Manila - National Institutes of Health under the supervision and mentorship of Dr. Vicente "Jun" Y. Belizario, Jr., who is a former Undersecretary of the Department of Health. Our research projects focused on the epidemiology, prevention and control of soil-transmitted helminths and schistosomiasis among school children. Aside from performing parasitologic diagnosis in the laboratory, I was trained in operating and managing research projects during my stay in the study group. Also, through Dr. Belizario's guidance, we were able to publish in a local Scopus-indexed journal.

A year after, I decided to take the path of a medical doctor. Despite our family's financial restricitions, I was able to attend and finish medical school through the personal scholarship grant of one of my life mentor and a very good friend, Dr. Ferdinal M. Fernando, who is currently the Asst. Director and Head of the Health Division of ASEAN.

While I was attending medical school, i kept myself involved in doing research activities such as field enumeration, event organizing,  data analysis, and technical writing. I had been involved in some projects of Prof. Ernesto "Jun" R. Gregorio, Jr., to whom I owe much of my learnings in health promotion and health education. Under his mentorship, we were able to published articles about the factors influencing women's choice of delivering in health facilities in a local Scopus-indexed journal.

In 2016, after graduating from medical school, I returned to the office of Prof. Gregorio as a research associate for an on-going project regarding the knowledge, attitudes, and practices of school teachers on Zika virus, transmission, control, and prevention. It was through this project that I had been introduced to Dr. Jun Kobyashi, who is now my mentor here at the Ryudai. We also had a publication in an international Scopus-indexed journal regarding the knowledge, attitudes, and practices of seafarers on cardiovascular diseases.

メッセージ

Doing researches has always been my passion. However, my perspective had changed in terms of the utilization of findings. As much as I can, I will venture on researches that will be translated and implemented as policies for the benefit of mankind. Through the guidance of Kobayashi-sensei and Nonaka-sensei, and the support of my colleagues and fellow researchers/students in the department, I will try my best to attain this goal.  

As a MEXT Scholar, I am expressing my commitment to maintain the ties between Japan and the Philippines. I want to be a living testimony of Ryudai's commitment in producing globally competitive graduates.

While I am here in Ryudai, I'll see to it that I'll live life to the fullest based on my ikigai. I'll immersed with the people and learn from them their language, arts, and culture.

2013年中央大学法学部政治学科に入学。国際政治と社会保障を学ぶ傍ら、大学の学部横断プログラムを利用して国際協力のゼミに所属し、国際保健について学ぶ。2016年に中央大を早期卒業。国際保健についてより深く学ぶため、琉球大学大学院博士前期課程に入学。2018年3月修士号取得、卒業。

沖縄県立看護大学卒業、聖路加国際病院に就職。夫の転勤を機に、沖縄へ。以前より興味のあった大学院へ進学。2017年9月修士取得、卒業。現在那覇市保健師として勤務。
 

メッセージ

周囲の方々に支えてもらいながら、研究と育児をしています。
ここには、厳しくも的確に指導してくださる先生方と、一緒に学びを共有できる学生がいます。各々研究フィールドが異なるのですが、それにより視点が広がり、学びを深めてくれます。また、世界的に活躍されている方々から直接レクチャーを受ける機会も多く、沖縄にいながらも多くのことを学べています。
